Hope – Day 6

“I have this hope, in the depths of my soul.” It’s a line from a song (generally speaking) and every time I thought about what to write today, it came to mind. Hebrews 6:19 states: “This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.”

I have encountered difficult situations since surrendering my life to Christ. Four years in a row, we dealt with a major life change: a difficult pregnancy, a big move, a devastating death, and then another big move. My hope in Jesus helps me tread the grief-filled waters. (Side note: Did you know moving can cause grief? I did not, until I moved an experienced it. I’ve basically been grieving in some form for the last three years.)

My hope in Jesus kept my eyes pointed to Him when we weren’t sure about our daughter’s health.

My hope in Jesus propelled me through the difficult first move.

My hope in Jesus kept me from giving up my faith after my mother in law passed away.

My hope in Jesus upholds me as I walk along with my family through a second move.

My hope in Jesus is this: He will redeem this. All of it. Every difficult and devastating thing. He will make it all right.

I may not know why we have to tread in these tough waters, but God knows. My hope in Him is the light on the dark nights. It is my breath when grief overwhelms. It is the anchor for my soul.

“I have this hope, in the depths of my soul.”

In pursuit of Him,

Jennifer
