Why I Quit Facebook

March 11, 2019February 27, 20196 Comments

Deactivate Facebook. My heart sunk as the words fluttered through my mind. I knew God spoke this command to me. I would not come up with it on my own! Set time limits on Facebook sounds like me. Quit Facebook? That's the Holy Spirit, friend. I wrestled with God on this Saturday morning. I was … Continue reading Why I Quit Facebook

Since 2014, I’ve journaled about my journey with Christ. I’ve compiled a binder’s worth of ideas for blog articles. I got so caught up in what the writing industry says to do that for the past two years I’ve done very little writing. I’m so excited to sit down today and just write. 💕 #amwriting #christianblogger #faithwriter #biblejournaling
9.11.01 Never Forget
Two days before I gave birth to my third child, I felt the Lord jolt me. He challenged me to share my testimony, one I asked for Him to reveal to me before it even happened (that's a story for another day). 💞 If you know me, you may have heard this one already. I shared on my blog Monday about my Uneven Pink Line and God's faithfulness in my life. Head on over and check it out (link is in the bio 👆🏻). 💞 Sometimes we forget the moments of God's faithfulness in our lives. I shared my journal pages from this difficult time in my life, and I'm so grateful to still have those verses that saw me through. I'd love to hear how God worked in your life! In what ways has He proved faithful to you? #chasingchristthroughthechaos #mytestimony #yourstorymatters #everyonehasastory #christianwriter #faithwriter #biblejournaling #scripture #godisgood
We survived another week! 🙌🏻 Seriously, sometimes the short holiday weeks feel longer than normal weeks. 💞 What are you praising God for today? #praiseHim #christianwriter #faithwriter #godisgood #jesusgirl #joyful #fridayisthebestday
"Everybody's job is important, we all help in different ways." 🙌🏻 Who knew a simple children's song could resonate so deeply with me?! Over on my blog this week, I shared about the time God used Daniel Tiger to encourage me. 💞 Head over to my website (link in bio 👆🏻) to read more. Has God ever used a kid's show to encourage you? Or am I alone? . . . 🤓 #christiandevotional #chasingchristthroughthechaos #parenting #jesuslovesme #christianwriter #godgirl #faithblogger #readyourbible #danieltigerissmart #gladweoutgrewhimthough #mrrogersrocks
The question inevitably comes up when meeting new women: "What do you do?" I battle feelings of inferiority as I reveal that I am a stay-at-home mom. The enemy pounces and whispers the lie that raising my kids isn't a worthy "job." I worked outside the home until my son was 18-months old. When the opportunity arose for me to stay home, I jumped on it. I never questioned my worth. Seven years later, I look for opportunities to prove myself: busying my days with children's activities, trying to find ways to make money while also staying home, or pressuring myself to have an über clean house. 💞 The wise words of Paul encourage me. The body of Christ is just that: a body. Our human body is made up of a variety of parts with different functions, and the body of Christ operates the same way. We all have different jobs and roles to play. (1 Corinthians 12:12-31) 👀 Comparison steals joy. In those moments, the enemy tries to take my eyes off the blessings in my life. The ability to be a stay-at-home mom is an incredible gift from God. The opportunity to be involved in my children's lives, both at home and in school, is a wonderful blessing. Likewise, I've met moms who choose to work and they sometimes battle guilt as well. These women thrive in their careers and work hard to balance their work/family life. It brings them joy...until the enemy whispers to their hearts. 🙋🏼‍♀️ We each have a unique role to play in God's glorious Kingdom. May we fight the urge to look at others and compare our roles. We are all crucial to the body of Christ. #chasingchristthroughthechaos #encouragement #weallhavearole #weareallimportant #Godsplan #readyourbible #jesuslovesyou #scripture #bibledevotional #devotional
